Simpson and Ashland Parish Council
Simpson and Ashland Parish Council represents over 1,100 people living in the parish area and is committed to promoting community values, economic well-being and pride in the Parish.

What the Parish Council does
A parish council is the first level of local government and the closest to the community it serves. The parish council is funded out of what is called the precept, which is paid by each household as part of their Council Tax. There are statutory requirements that a parish council are required to fulfil, but at the root of everything the Parish Council is there to represent the views and concerns of the whole community. - Keeps people informed through 5 noticeboards, quarterly newsletters and the website about community matters.
- Provides grants to aid activities that encourage neighbourliness and community, activities that support vulnerable residents and to make a positive difference to the local environment spirit within this community.
- Supplies 8 dog waste bins and pays for the collection and disposal of the waste.
- Provides and maintains two public seats for the benefit of residents.
- Provides and maintains the three village and three Britain in Bloom road signs.
- Works with other agencies to help maintain and look after the environment within the parish area.
- Gets the Simpson and Ashland voice heard at a city-wide level through our work with our ward Councillors and officers from Milton Keynes Council.
- Owns and runs Simpson Village Hall.

Parish Councillors
Simpson and Ashland Parish Council is made up of 8 volunteers, who are elected Councillors of the local community, served by a Parish Clerk.
At present there are 3 vacancies. Are you interested in making Simpson and Ashland an even better place to live in. We are a small parish and the councillors are committed to serving those who live, work and visit our great part of Milton Keynes. You need to be 18 and over and live within 3 miles of the parish boundary.
